Ragz Dressware, Blues&Shoes, The Beat Clothing Located in the heart of the Carlsbad Village, these sister boutiques offer unique style and affordability. As a makeup artist and lover of fashion it's hard to choose which is my favorite because my own style changes so much day to day... so I won't! I love all three for what they are. Blues&Shoes. For the boho, shabby chic type. There is a huge variety of loose, layered, fringey, flowy, crochet everything! It's like gypsy heaven. Shopping here feels like rummaging through your own collection of vintage accessories at home. The merchandising says, don't be afraid to play! Things are just kind of layered on top of each other and I find it really appealing as many of these pieces can (and should!) be worn together anyway. These are the Sbicca "Sound" booties that they are basically famous for in the area. Tell me you aren't getting all the stares walking down the street in these beauties! I've caught them cruising around town a few times, and every time I do I'm like, "get in my closet!" Sbicca Footwear is available at all three locations and if they don't have your size at one, they'll run next door and get it for you. Ragz Dressware. Ragz has been around the longest and is much dressier than its counterparts. This is the place to shop when you're going out with friends for the night or meeting that special someone for dinner. There is a variety of patterns and fabrics that keep a professional, yet modern feel. You might see some of the same type of bohemian patterns or silhouettes as seen at Blues&Shoes but in a more formal taste. The merchandising at Ragz is simple and elegant. This really caught my eye, it's so soft and beautiful. I want my closet to look just like this. The Beat Clothing. So, I basically lost my mind over this shop! Your level of cool easily quadruples as soon as you set foot inside this store. It's like you've been invited to hang with the band during practice in your friend's poster lined garage studio. You know, the kind with tons of character. I love a good balance of edgy and feminine. Here you can find a lot of pretty styles but in grungier tones, maybe maroon or military green. This is the place to shop for KAABOO, if you're going later this month. They have an impressive selection of classic band tees and the ladies will help you style them from head to toe. This styling service is available at all three boutiques and you can tell that the team really takes pride in their fashion sense. I saw Sara create a few outfits for the shoppers at Ragz and they were spot on. The owner, Megan, was also very sweet and welcoming when I approached her about the blog. Having previously worked many years for an international retail company, I have to say that shopping local is so much more intimate and uplifting.
