I have recently been on a journey of love. What is love? That's been my soul's question now for quite some time. I believe love is about acceptance, awareness and ultimately about surrender.
I have met some of the most amazing and loving people in my life and many have changed the way I look at life and how I "do" life. For years, I fought against love. I didn't know how to handle the unexpected and unpredictable aspect of it. I was always open to love for a period only to withdraw into myself again where I resisted it's blessings. As I have gotten older, I have learned to embrace it everyday. I try to find love everywhere in all beings. Now, I step into love and the doors it has opened in my life are amazing because of that shift within. On this personal quest regarding love it has also shown me that love is very complex. There are levels to love. When I am fully present in the moment and in my heart--- love seems to find me. It seeks me out in the things that I do and with the people that I meet. Some experiences have made me stronger and I am grateful for that. In other words--- love is not necessarily easy. Ever since I have made love a focal point on my journey, I have discovered so much about myself, my passions and the world around me. I have truly felt that everything happens for a reason in certain moments and I have challenged myself to dig deeper when I would rather withdraw. In essence, loving myself and loving others and all that life offers has helped me to see that we are meant to embrace love everyday. Sometimes love is painful... Isn't it? But, again--- there is something to learn from that pain. If we were meant to avoid love, it wouldn't be a part of so much in our lives from relationships to career choices to deeper questions about our life's purpose and existence on earth. What are you supposed to discover about love? Who knows--- but whatever you do, do it with love and your heart will lead the way. #losocal
