by Nina Vazquez Karl Strauss Tasting Room, Pacific Beach I had the pleasure of attending Arts and Amps last night, hosted by Karl Strauss to promote their delicious brews as well as local artists, Little Hurricane & Thumbprint Gallery. The event was held at the Karl Strauss Tasting Room in PB. I've been to the Karl Strauss restaurant in Carlsbad many times (they make a mean Mac and Cheese!) but never the tasting room so it was a new experience. Thumbprint Gallery promotes a variety of local artists throughout SoCal. The intern I spoke with says that they host local art shows like this multiple times a month. You can join their email list via their website to receive notifications for upcoming events. As you can see from the turnout, local blues-rock band, Little Hurricane is kind of a big deal. Their set was packed like this from beginning to end. Tons of locals gathered to eat and mingle around Chop Soo-ey and Ms. Patty Melt food trucks. I was excited to see that both food trucks were created by Chef Deborah Scott, I recently experienced her menu at Island Prime located on Harbor Island, San Diego. Some really amazing sea food! Enjoying a Cali Chicken Sandwich from Chop Soo-ey Food Truck and a Mosaic Session Ale. The food was fresh and the beer was crisp.
