By Karen Vazquez, Senior Editor and Owner of LoSoCal Free events are everywhere in local San Diego. All it takes is a simple Google search that looks like “Free events this weekend in San Diego” and you’re on your way. I went to an awesome donation based event that supports local San Diego artists, just this past weekend. See the photo above to learn more about how you can support this local bookstore in Carlsbad that has an “honor system” book borrowing program. Lhooq is more than a bookstore. The owner, Sean, is a philanthropist and art junkie- and that is a bad ass combo. At this free event this past weekend, there was live music, community conversation, beverages available and a general theme of “supporting our local artists.”
Hey, at LoSoCal that’s what we are all about. Get your ass out of the house peeps. 😊 Find a local free event that you can join THIS WEEKEND! I go out all of the time and hit up free events. If I have the money to spend, I will spend it at events like this because these events are usually showcasing local talent and vendors in some way. Hey, the babe on a budget has to get creative with every hard earned dollar she makes and if she can get out of the house on the cheap- that’s a day or evening well spent. Much love San Diego locs. Share your favorite free events below and maybe we might meet up sometime soon in the mix. 💖 #losocal #losocalbabeonabudget #freeeventssd

Owner, Lead BloggerHello, my name is Karen Vazquez. I have lived in Southern California for over thirty years. I realized about four years ago that it was time for me to give back to this wonderful community by supporting local SoCal businesses, performers, restaurants, spas, boutiques, fitness studios, farmers markets and more. My support shines through here by highlighting these fabulous local SoCal spots. You can also follow me on Instagram, Twitter, PInterest and LinkedIn. I will be featuring many local destinations in the area that have been my personal favorites for years and am currently recruiting guest bloggers to expand the voice of LoSoCal. I have had guest bloggers in the past, but aim to incorporate local SoCal bloggers on a regular basis as a fun, creative and collaborative way to connect with the community here. Essentially, LoSoCal is a community blog, and it is meant to be resource to locals in this area and visitors from around the world. Please like or follow LoSoCal on the social media business pages and tell your contacts about the blog. Thanks for stopping by... ©️2020 LoSoCal and Local SoCal Lifestyle. All rights reserved.
