A lot of people ask me now why I do what I do with LoSoCal. I get curious questions all of the time! ❤ Yes. It started as a hobby almost two years ago and some people think it is still a hobby. No. It is not. I'm actually so overjoyed to say that. It is not a hobby anymore. It hasn't been for a while.
LoSoCal is a marketing brand and business that I discovered "by accident" after doing something I enjoy "for free" for a very long while. Initially, I did it just for fun. Allow me to explain... I did (and do) writing, blogging, basic photography (with photo editing), social media content marketing, website development (platform based), promoting, brand consulting and I'm getting in to public relations. Crazy right? Yes. It was crazy actually to see my life change so dramatically and to see a hobby transform organically into a marketing business. And, many of you have been watching this journey and have questions now. I understand. Let me say this. The greatest differences between LoSoCal and other marketing companies in the area are explained as follows: First, there is an organic pro bono aspect to it that will NEVER change and that aspect has to do with me and my life. (One day, I hope to grow the non-profit aspect, but for now it's just me. 😊). I made this commitment a while ago. My schedule will never get so busy that I don't have time to post for free about what I love in the area and to give shout outs to some of my favorite spots! This is where the hobby aspect shifted, friends. 🌊🌞🌴It happens!!! It is actually really wonderful because I had other people tell me they wanted to pay me a while back and that's how that came to be. It wasn't the other way around! I'm actually really proud of this fact and maybe that's why it all happened in the first place. My initial heartfelt intention with LoSoCal was for a cause, not a profit. (I'm not saying that making a profit is bad or a bad motivator either. I have to commit to that now myself because we all need money to live and thrive. It was, however, simply a pure love I had back at the onset for the local community here that even birthed my idea and my brand.) Trust me! I get it. We all need to make a living. I'm just saying, maybe, maybe...just maybe I attracted the right people to encourage me and lead me where I am today because they knew I wasn't in it for the money. I love our community in San Diego. It's really that simple. On that note, read on... The second quality of my brand that I find pretty rare in our culture is this: I ONLY offer my marketing and social media services to LOCALLY owned brands and small business owners. I enjoy helping people who have a business goal and a dream and don't always know how to do the marketing aspect. This is the most importent characteristic of my brand. I also try my best to share local events, shows and more. This will NEVER change. Call it a movement. I'm alright with that type of undertone to my brand story and my mission statement. In essence, I'm a local advocate of the culture here in SoCal and I use social media as my stage. I understand it is impossible to get away from the corporate climate around us. It is simply a fact of life and aspect of Capitalist America. I am not saying boycott Capitalism! Ha! I'm just going to choose to support the underdog. That's all. With so many people asking me questions recently, I had to offer an answer. I hear questions like, "what is LoSoCal?" "What do you do for LoSoCal?" And, even more recently "it started as a hobby and now you have a business?" Yes. LoSoCal is a business. I am amazed and so very grateful that this unexpected blessing came into my life. Who would have guessed that one? Lol. Yes. I'm as surprised as the next person. 😬 I have to say something here, as well, to clarify a little pact I have with this area. It's about being real. I promise you local San Diego (and you can quote me), I will always give back to this community in some way via my marketing services and keep a portion of my posts organic and pro bono no matter how busy my schedule becomes. I love this area. That will never change. I might not have much to give always, but I have gotten in the habit of giving this community my time. I will always continue to do so even in small ways amidst a busy schedule. When you support my brand and me, rest assured you're supporting someone who values our beautiful community. LoSoCal. Whatever you do, do it with love! Thanks for the support if you follow me and have taken the time to read. 🙏🤓❤ P.S. Follow your dreams! #losocal #followyourdreams #supportlocalbusiness
