I visited Urge Gastropub last week and was truly impressed with this new restaurant located in Oceanside. It's on the corner of highway 101 and Vista Way. I stopped in with a long time friend who invited me for tasters and food. We had quite a few tasters to include the Cafe Con Leche, Andrews Forest, the Charley Hustle and a few others. Pictured above is the Charley Hustle, a red IPA with 6.8% ABV and I was told it is the best beer to pair with any type of food on their menu. I would recommend the Cafe Con Leche as more of an after dinner beer, but don't let that stop you. It could serve as a dessert by itself since it is rich, full flavored and slightly sweet with an ABV of 5.9%. I'll be writing more about this restaurant in the near future, but I wanted to give a shout out now because I enjoyed this place so much. I'll be posting about them and a few of my other new favorite restaurants in the area so check back soon. I have been busy out and about in North County connecting with many of the newer venues and restaurants. I really believe that North County is growing rapidly and this restaurant is proof that we are a destination location now for craft beer, local wineries, crafted cocktails and excellent "farm to table" style food. I love this county and everyone who knows me knows that California has my heart forever.
